인터넷 검색을 하다가 외국은 어떻게 캠핑을 다니는지가 궁금해졌다. 

뭐, 공신력이 있는 베스트 10은 아니겠지만, 그래도 흥미있게 읽었다. 

우선 바람이 많이 불고, 비가 시도때도 없이 자주 내리는 영국!!! 

우리나라와는 기후가 많이 다르고, 캠핑 스타일이 달라서 그런지, 바닥일체형을 선호한다. 

바닥이 없는 쉘터형 텐트는 대부분이 알파인 스타일인듯. 

근데 거진 두 시간 걸려서 해놨는데, 크게 도움이 되거나 신박한 정보는 없는듯!?!?!?!?!?!?!? 

So summer is nearly here, and that means warmer weather to go family camping.  If you’ve never been camping before – or if it’s a long time since you were under canvas – then the choice and range will surprise you. Gone are the tents of old, replaced by sturdy modern designs which are bright, airy and spacious. And if you opt for the inflatable variety, a large five-person family tent can be ready within 20 minutes.

당신이 캠핑을 한 번도 가보지 못했거나, 텐트 안에서 지낸 지 오래됐다면, 텐트에 대한 선택권과 범위는 당신을 깜짝 놀랠킬 것이다.

오래된 스타일의 텐트들은 가고, 밝고, 환기도 잘 되고, 넓은 현대적인 디자인의 튼튼한 모델들로 대체되었다. 

또한 당신이 공기주입식 텐트를 선택한다면, 거대한 5인 가족용 텐트도 20분안에 준비될 수 있을 것이다. 

Instead of using poles, inflatables use air pumped in through a valve to give the tent strength and rigidity. The benefit is it takes a lot less time to pitch an inflatable than a pole variety – but they tend to be quite a bit more expensive.

공기주입식 텐트는 폴대를 사용하는 대신, 밸브를 통해 공기를 펌프로 주입하여, 텐트에 힘과 강성을 더해준다. 

공기주입식 텐트 조금 더 비싼 경향이 있지만, 각양각색의 폴대로 되어 있는 텐트를 치는 것보다 훨씬 적은 시간이 든다는 것이 장점이다.

When considering size, bear in mind that the number of people a tent claims to house and the reality might be different when you have the whole family plus belongings in the mix. If you can, it’s a good idea to see the tent up in a shop to get a gauge of the actual space. Or if you’re buying online, look closely at the measurements of the sleeping and living quarters. 

텐트의 크기를 고려할 때, 당신의 모든 가족에다 소지품이나 장비등이 모두 함께 있기 때문에, 텐트 제조사에서 주장하는 정원과 현실은 다를 수 있다는 걸 명심해야 한다. 

가능하다면, 실질적인 공간을 가늠키 위해서 오프매장에 들러 설치된 텐트를 보는것도 좋은 생각이다. 

온라인으로 구매를 한다면, 슬리핑 공간과 리빙공간의 측정치를 상세히 살펴봐야 한다.

Another important factor when looking for a tent is the hydrostatic head rating. This is a measure of how much water in millimetres the material of the tent can resist before it starts to leak through. Obviously the higher the number here, the better – but of course, a hydrostatic head increases the price of the tent quite markedly. For most family camping, a rating of between 3000 – 4000mm would be fine.  Above that, you’d be equipped for the worst the British weather could throw at you. Below that and you should pick mainly fair weather days to go on your trip.

텐트를 알아볼 때 또 하나 중요한 요인은 내수압 이다. 내수압(Hydrostatic head rating??)이란, 텐트의 스킨이 물이 새기 전까지 얼마만큼의 물을 견딜 수 있는 지, mm 단위로 측정한 것이다.

당연히 숫자가 높을수록 더 좋다. - 하지만 물론 내수압이 높을 수록 텐트 가격도 두드러지게 높아진다. 

대부분의 가족캠핑에서는 3,000 ~ 4,000 mm의 내수압이면 훌륭하다.  그 이상이라면, 최악의 영국 날씨가 당신에게 달려들어도 당신은 준비가 되어 있을 것이다. 

3,000 ~ 4,000 mm 아래라면, 여행을 가기 전에, 미리 알아보고 날씨가 좋은 날들을 골라서 가야만 할 것이다. 

The tents on the list were selected as a good cross section of the models on the market this summer, and were tested by doing what they are designed for – family camping.  So, we pitched the tents as per the instructions (while the kids kept an eye on the time), then we lived in them for a few days to thoroughly give them the once over.

리스트에 있는 텐트들은 이번 여름 텐트 시장에서 텐트 모델들의 대표적인 모델들로서 선택되었다, 그리고 이 텐트들이 의도대로 만들어진대로 테스트를 거쳤다. - 가족캠핑.

그래서 우리들은 텐트를 설명서대로 설치했고,(물론 설치하는 동안 아이들을 잘 지켜봤다.) 그리고 며칠동안 텐트들에서 지내면서, 빈틈없이 훓어보았다.

1. Vango Airbeam Inspire 600: £750, amazon  반고 에어빔 인스파이어 600   

Vango was the first company to bring inflatable tents into the mainstream market with its AirBeam range and they’re impressive, keenly priced models. This spacious six-man has been given an update for 2016. The sturdy air chambers are now a larger diameter, which improves the stability, and the flysheet fabric more durable. 

At 7.5m x 4.5m, six sleep comfortably in the bedrooms, which can be used in various combinations and folded away for flexibility. The living area is large, too, and the covered entrance to stop rain from dripping in is a welcome addition, as is the darker fabric used that reduces the amount of early morning light. There’s a fully sewn-in groundsheet to stop draughts and bugs and a hydrostatic head of 6000mm means it should be able to stand up against whatever the British summer throws at you. It’s quick to pitch, too – we got it up in 20 minutes.  

반고는 에어빔 범위와 인상적이고 친근한 가격으로 책정된 모델들로 공기주입식 텐트를 텐트시장의 주류로 이끌어온 첫 회사다.  이 넓은 6인용 텐트는 2016년도에 개선된 점이 있따.튼튼한 에어폴대의 지름이 더욱 넓어짐에 의해 더욱 안정적이 되었다. 또한 플라이 재질의 내구성이 좋아졌다. 

총 길이 7.5 m X 4.5 m 의 면적에 침실에서는 여섯명이 편안하게 취침할 수 있고, 침실은 다양한 조합으로 사용될 수도 있고, 융통성있게, 접어서 보관도 가능하다. 전실 또한 크다. 또 빗물이 떨어지는 걸 방지하기 위한 출입구부분과 이른 아침 햇살의 양을 줄여줄 수 있는 어두워진 스킨 또한 반가운 추가사항이다.  외풍과 벌레들을 막아줄 수 있는 일체형 바닥이 있고, 6,000 mm의 내수압은 영국의 여름에 어떤 날씨라도 당신이 충분히 지낼 수 있다는걸 의미한다. 설치 또한 금새된다. 우리는 20분 정도 걸렸다. 

2. Regatta Vanern 4 Tent: £170, amazon 레가타 배넌 4 

Regatta is a relative newcomer to tents, but we’re impressed by its range. The Vanern (available as a four or six-man) is a tunnel tent so there’s no crossing of poles to contend with when you’re getting it up. The large bedroom has a removable divider, allowing for some privacy between parents and children.  The living area is spacious and the side doors, which convert into canopies, are a nice touch. The 5000mm hydrostatic head of the fabric keeps it in line with the competition on waterproofing and we like the fact there’s a sewn-in ground sheet. The whole bag – tent plus poles – is relatively light, and the colour-coded poles make it not-too-tricky to pitch (Regatta says it takes 20 minutes and we managed it in 25). 

레가타는 상대적으로 텐트업계에서는 신참이다. 하지만 우리는 레가타의 다양성에 깊은 인상을 받았다. Vanern (4~6인용)은 터널텐트다. 해서 당신이 텐트를 자립시키는 동안 씨름해야할 교차폴대가 없다.  커다란 침실에는 탈착이 가능한 디바이더가 있어, 부모자식간에 약간의 사생활보호가 가능한다.(룸디바이더 쳐놓고 뭘 하길래!?!?!?) 전실또한 공간이 넓고, 캐노피 형식으로 칠 수 있는 사이드도어도 좋은 부분이다. 5,000mm의 내수압은 방수능력적인 면에서 경쟁에 우위를 두게 한다. 그리고 우리는 일체형 바닥이라는 점도 좋아한다. 수납가방 - 텐트+폴대 - 은 상대적으로 가볍다. 색깔이 덮여있는 폴대는 설치하는데 있어 까다롭지 않게 해준다. (레가타에서는 20분이 걸린다고 했는데, 우리는 25분에 설치를 완료했다.)

3. Wild Country Zephyros 4 Living: £347, amazon  와일드 컨트리 제피로스 4

This company’s heritage is in tents designed for backpacking and hiking shows. This quality, but no-frills option is designed for families who really want to embrace the true camping experience. So, there isn’t a sewn-in ground sheet, for example, but a sheet toggled between the two bedrooms that face each other with a central living area. It is very light – 7.1kg – so it’s one you can carry if you’re heading to a more remote location. Pitching is easy and takes only marginally longer than the 15 minutes Wild Country states. It’s tall, airy and you feel safe and away from the elements – the hydrostatic head of 4000mm gives you peace of mind.  

백패킹과 하이킹을 위해 고안된 텐트들이 이 회사의 유산, 전통이다. 꼭 필요한 요소만 있는 이 퀄리티는 진정한 캠핑 경험을 갖고자 하는 가족들을 위해 디자인된 것이다. 예를 들면, 일체형 바닥이 없다. 하지만 중앙의 전실을 끼고 서로 마주보는 두개의 침실 사이에 토글로 설치하는 시트가 있다. 이 텐트는 매우 가볍다. 7.1 kgs-그래서 당신이 오지나 노지같은 곳으로 간다면, 충분히 짊어지고 다닐만 한다. 설치는 매우 쉽고, 와일드 컨트리에 따르면 15분 약간 넘게 걸린다고 한다. 

이 텐트는 전고가 높고, 환기도 잘되며 비바람에도 안전하게 느껴질 것이다. - 4,000mm의 내수압은 당신에게 마음의 평화를 주리~

4. Freedom Trail Sendero 4: £99, Go Outdoors  프리덤 트레일 센데로 4 

If you’re camping on a budget, and the forecast is decent, this from Go Outdoors’ entry-level range is ideal. Freedom Trail has pulled off a clever trick in just pairing things back, rather than getting rid of features. So, instead of four or five windows, there’s two; instead of 4000mm hyrdostatic head, it’s 2000mm. But, it still has luminous guy ropes and a sewn-in ground sheet. It’s light at just over 10kg, and pitches easily – around 25 minutes. There’s no canopy over the door and the colour of bedroom fabric is a bit bright, but there’s little to complain about at this price.  

만약에 당신이 예산에 맞추어 캠핑을 다니고, 날씨 좋은날 골라서 다닌다면, 고 아웃도어 의 이 입문자용 텐트가 이상적일 것이다. 프리덤 트레일은 특징적인 것들을 제거하는대신 조를 이루게 하는 영리한 방법을 썼다. 예를 들면, 다섯개의 창문 대신, 두개의 창문만 있다. 4,000 mm 내수압대신, 이 텐트는 2,000 mm 내수압니다. 하지만, 야광 가이로프와 일체형바닥이 장착되어 있다. 10키로 약간 넘는 정도로 가볍고, 쉽게 설치가 된다. - 대충 25분 정도. 출입문에 캐노피가 없고, 침실 스킨의 색상이 약간 밝지만, 이 가격에 불편할만한 건 아닌듯~

5. Hi Gear Radiance 5: £200, Go Outdoors  하이기어 레이디언스 5 

Another of Go Outdoors’ exclusives, this is a tunnel-style with a little extra. It sleeps up to five people and at just under two metres, there’s plenty of headroom. More than half the tent’s length is taken up with the bedroom, which does leave it feeling a little cramped in the living area with five bodies in there. That said, it’s a good weight – under 15kg – and takes around 25 mins to pitch with easy-to-follow instructions. The sewn-in ground sheet and bright guy ropes are welcome, as is the small built-in canopy over the only door at the front. The hydrostatic head is a decent 4000mm.

고 아웃도어의 또다른 독점 제품인 이 텐트는 약간의 추가사항이 있는 터널형 텐트다. 다섯명이 취침할 수 있고, 2M가 약간 안되는 높이라, 충분한 헤드룸이 있다. 텐트전체 길이의 반 이상이 침실에 할당되어 있기 때문에, 리빙공간에 다섯명이 지내기엔 비좁은 느낌이 있다. 그건 가볍다는 의미다. - 15키로 이하 - 그리고 쉽게 따라할 수 있는 설명서를 보고 25분이면 설치를 할 수 있다. 유일한 출입구인 전면 도어에 빌트인 캐노피와 마찬가지로, 일체형 바닥과 밝은색의 가이로프는 반갑다, 내수압은 4,000 mm로 괜춘타. 

6. Easy Camp Tornado 500: £336, amazon  이지캠프 토네이도 500

This one is impressive for the price. For starters, it’s an inflatable tent, so no more struggling with poles. It has a respectable hydrostatic head of 3000mm and plenty of storage pockets. The tent pitches within 10 minutes, with three separate air tubes requiring inflating with the large pump provided. Brightly coloured guy-ropes also help to keep them visible at night. There’s plenty of headroom inside and the bedroom comfortably sleeps five people, with a removable hanging divider should everyone be happy being in the same room. We’d say it’s better for four than five – and sewn-in groundsheet lovers won’t like it, but it’s still a good buy. 

이녀석은 가격이 인상적이다. 이 텐트는 더이상 폴과 씨름할 필요가 없는 초보캠퍼들을 위한 공기주입식 텐트다. 내수압은 3,000mm로 훌륭하고, 충분한 보관주머니가 달려있다. 제품과 함께 제공되는 큰 에어펌프로 분리되어 있는 세군데 에어튜브에 바람을 넣어, 10분안에 설치가 가능하다. 밝은 색상의 가이로프 또한 밤에도 잘 보인다. 충분한 헤드룸이 있고, 제거할 수 있는 룸디바이더는 한 방에 있는 모든 사람이 행복하게 지낼 수 있고, 총 다섯명이 편안히 잠을 잘 수 있다. 일체형 바닥을 사랑하는 사람들은 좋아하지 않을 수도 있겠지만, 여전히 좋은 제품이다. (찾아봤더니, 바닥은 토글로 걸어놓는 그라운드 시트다.)

7. Airgo Cirrus 6: £750, Go Outdoors  에어고 씨러스 6 

Airgo is Hi Gear’s range of inflatable tents. This is at the larger end of the range – 5m x 4m – and it still has a spacey feel even when there are six people in it. The bedroom is a good size and can be configured as one big room for six, two smaller rooms for three in each or one can be unclipped and stored away giving more living space. Doors are big; there’s a large front door and two side doors, including one with a rain hood that can be opened without getting rain in the tent. There’s one inflation point, so there’s no moving around the tent to connect the pump to different valves. The double-skinned beams are amazingly rigid when inflated and at 6000mm hydrostatic head, it will withstand the rain as well as the wind. The downside of the size and sturdiness is the weight – just under 28kg all in. The website states it inflates in 60 seconds, and it’s not too far over that – although you still have the guy ropes to pitch.

에어고는 하이기어의 공기주입식 라인업(범위)이다. 이 텐트는 공기주입식 라인업 중 큰편에 속하는 텐트다. - 5M X 4M - 또한 여섯명이 들어가 있어도 여전히 넓은 공간감을 느낄 수 있다. 침실은 크기가 아주 좋고, 6인용으로 사용할 하나의 큰 침실로, 혹은 3명씩 사용가능한 두개의 침실로, 아니면, 더 넓은 리빙공간을 위해 하나를 접어서 보관할 수 있다. 문도 크다. 전면에 큰 문이 하나 달려있고, 두개의 사이드 도어가 있다. 사이드 도어 중 하나는 레인후드가 달려있어 텐트안에서 비를 들이지 않고, 문을 열 수 있다. 공기주입구가 하나이기 때문에, 이리저리 돌아다니며 여러 밸브에다가 펌프질을 할 필요가 없다. 이중스킨으로 되어 있는 에어빔은 공기가 주입되었을 때 내수압이 6,000mm 로, 매우 견고하고, 비와 바람 모두를 견뎌낼 수 있다. 이 텐트의 크기와 튼튼한 점에 대한 단점은 무게다. - 다 합해서 28kgs 정도다. 홈페이지에는 60초면 주입이 된다고 되어 있고, 실제로 크게 차이가 나지 않는다. - 바람을 넣고나서 가이로프도 설치해야 하지만. 

8. Nigor Laughing Owl: £1070, amazon  나이고 웃고있는 부엉이 ㅋ 

If Bear Grylls went on a family camping holiday, we imagine he’d take a Nigor. This is extremely lightweight at under 6kg and small enough to be put in a decent-sized backpack. With a hydrostatic head of 10,000mm, water isn’t getting through to the inside and the tough fabrics with reinforced stress points mean it’s going to remain standing in all weathers. Pitching is quick – three poles means it’s a simple job done in 15 minutes. The vestibule has been designed so it can store bikes overnight, and the bedroom can easily sleep two adults and two children – but best with the smaller children on the outside of the bedroom as tall adults might find it a bit short. There are windows galore, making it seem airy – but as this is semi-extreme family camping, there’s no sewn-in groundsheet.

만일 베어그릴스가 가족캠핑여행을 떠난다면, 그가 나이고를 선택할거라 생각한다. 6키로 이하로 매우 가볍고, 괜찮은 사이즈의 백팩에 수납이 될만큼 충분히 부피가 작다. 10,000mm의 내수압은 물이 내부로 들어올 수 없게 하고, 스트레스 포인트들로 강화된 질긴 스킨은 어떠한 날씨에도 버틸 수 있다는 걸 의미한다. 설치는 빠르다 - 세개의 폴대는 15분 이내에 설치가 쉽게 끝나는걸 말한다. 베스테뷸은 바이크를 밤새 세워놓을 수 있도록 디자인되었고, 침실은 어른 두명, 아이 두명은 쉽게 잘 수 있다. - 하지만 가장 좋은 건 작은 아이들은 침실에서 자고, 어른들은 침실 밖에서 자는것이다. 침실은 성인들에게 약간 짧은 수 있다. 창문이 충분히 많이 있어, 환기가 잘 되는 것 같아 보인다. - 세미-익스트림 스타일의 가족캠핑을 위한 텐트기 때문에, 일체형 바닥은 없다. 

9. Eureka Southern Valley BTC RS: £1672, amazon  유레카 써던밸리 BTC RS 

This large tent has three bedrooms in which five people can sleep comfortably. The space is made up of a large living room with windows and doors at either side, and a front-enclosed canopy area. These can be separated off to make two rooms, or pull the divider back, and there’s one big space. The headroom is very generous – some 15 cm more than most tents – and it has a very airy feel thanks to the eight large windows. Pitching a traditional pole tent this size would be a challenge, but as it’s an inflatable model, it’s easy. A hydrostatic head of 4000mm is good and the sewn-in groundsheet in the main living room will stop beasties, with the extension having a flat footprint too. Optional extras include a fitted carpet. At 45kg this is heavy, so it’s not one for the roofbox. 

이 거대한 텐트는 다섯명이 편안히 잘 수 있는 세개의 침실이 있다. 창문들과 양면의 출입구가 있는 거대한 리빙룸과 전면에 캐노피로 둘러쳐진 공간이 있다. 이 공간들은 두개의 룸으로 분리될 수 있고, 혹은 디바이더를 뒤로 빼서 하나의 큰 공간을 만들 수도 있다. 헤드룸은 상당히 관대한 편이다. - 대부분의 텐트들보다 15cm가 더 높다.- 그리고 여덞개의 큰 창문들 덕분에 환기가 매우 잘 되는 편이다. 이 정도 사이즈의 전통적인 폴대텐트를 치는 건 꽤나 어려울 수 있다. 하지만, 이건 공기주입식 텐트라 설치가 쉽다. 내수압은 4,000 mm로 훌륭하고, 메인 리빙룸에는 일체형 바닥으로 되어 있어, 벌레들의 유입을 막아주고, 익스텐션 공간에도 역시 풋프린트가 있다. 옵션으로 딱 맞는 카페트를 고를 수 있다. 45kgs로 무거워서 루프박스에 수납을 할 수 없다. 

10. Outwell Montana 6P: £625, amazon  아웃웰 몬타나 6P 

This tunnel tent design has been around for years – for good reason. It’s a well thought-out, spacious tent with plenty of Outwell’s signature pocket storage. You get three doors – including a porch on one side – and a bedroom you can divide into two three-berth compartments. The living space is big enough for a family and loads of camping equipment (and there are add-ons you can buy). The hydrostatic head is an impressive 6000mm and the sewn-in ground sheet keeps those bugs at bay. Pitching isn’t quite as easy as the inflatable options; with four poles to assemble and thread through sleeves, it needs two people to get up.  But, with practice, it can be ready in 30 minutes. It is fairly heavy – over 30kg – but Outwell cleverly have separate bags for the tent and the poles, making it more manageable to move.  

이 터널텐트 형태는 매우 오래전부터 있어왔다. - 충분한 이유가 있으니께- 이 텐트는 아웃웰 특유의 충분한 숫자의 포켓 스토리지를 가진, 여러모로 세심하게 디자인된, 거대한 텐트다. 우선 세 개의 문이 있다.-그 중 하나에는 포치가 달려있다- 그리고 침실은 3개의 침상이 가능한 두개의 구획으로 나눌 수 있다. 리빙 공간은 캠핑 장비와 한 가족이 사용하기에 충분히 넓다. (거기다 추가로 공간을 늘일 수 있는 것을 살 수 있다.) 내수압은 매우 인상적인 6,000mm 이고, 바닥일체형이라 벌레들의 유입을 막아준다. 설치하는 것은 공기주입식텐트만큼 쉽지 않다. ; 네 개의 폴을 조립하여 슬리브를 통해 집어놓고, 자립을 시키는데는 두 명이 필요하다. 하지만, 몇 번 쳐보면 30분안에 설치가 가능하다. 30kgs가 넘는 무게로 상당히 무겁다. 하지만 아웃웰에서 텐트본체와 폴대를 각각 수납할 가방을 따로 제공하기 때문에, 들고 움직이는데 있어 좀 더 쉽게해준다. 

Verdict  총평

For those not certain camping is for them, the Freedom Trail Sendero 4 offers a great way into the life for only £100.  The Wild Country or the Nigor are fantastic if you’re an adventurous family wanting to get away from it. But for us, the best buy at the moment is the Vango Airbeam Inspire 600. It’s a large tent which sleeps six, but the extra room is worth it, even if you are a family of four – and because it’s inflatable, the extra size doesn’t mean it increases the time it takes to put up.

캠핑이 자기들에게 잘 맞는지 아직 확실치 않은 사람들에게, 프리덤 트레일 센데로 4는 단돈 100 유로로 캠핑을 경험해볼 좋은 방법이다. 와일드 컨트리나 나이고는 일상에서 떠나고 싶어사는 모험심이 많은 가족들에게 환상적인 선택이 될 것이다. 하지만, 우리들에겐 가장 좋은 선택은 반고 에어빔 인스파이어 600 이다. 여섯 명이 잘 수 있는 큰 텐트지만, 당신이 4인 가족이라도 남는 공간을 충분히 활용할 수 있다. - 거기다 공기주입식이기 때문에 남는 공간이 있다고 설치하는데 시간이 더 걸리는 건 아니다.
