미국에선 어떤 텐트들이 좋은지도 한 번 알아봤다. 

알파인 텐트는 알아보지 않고, 오토캠핑용 텐트를 알아봤는데, 

아웃도어기어랩에서 쓴 글을 발견했다. 세분하여 일일이 평점을 매긴게 인상적이었다. 

뭐 쭉 훓어봤는데, 대충 거의 아는 부분이 많았고, 

기억에 남는건 기후나 스타일이 워낙 우리나라와 다르다보니, 텐트 스타일도 많이 다르다는 것과

REI 킹덤이 짱이라는거!?!? ㅋㅋ

In our field tests, the REI Kingdom 6 reigned over the competition, providing comfort and ease of use no matter what the weather did; it was pleasant, rain or shine, and dependable in the wind, or through a toddler tornado. The Kingdom 6 stands 6 ft 3 inches tall inside, and has a spacious design with two rooms. One room is mostly mesh while the other is solid tent fabric, allowing campers to choose how much ventilation they want, and also allowing for some privacy even if you don't put the fly on the tent – a great option for very warm nights. We enjoyed the Kingdom 6 from start to finish, including the very handy carrying bag designed as a backpack. And if you need The Kingdom Tent even bigger, check out the REI Kingdom 8 Tent.

우리의 필드테스트에서, REI Kingdom 6는 ;안락함을 제공해주고, 설치가 쉬우며, 비가오던, 날씨가 좋던 어떤 날씨에도 만족을 줬고, 작은 회오리바람같은 바람에도 강한모습을 보이며 경쟁을 지배해버렸다. 

Kingdom 6는 189cm의 높이에 투룸으로 된 커다란 공간을 가지고 있다. 하나는 대부분이 메쉬로 되어 있고, 다른 편은 텐트 스킨으로 되어 있다. 이러한 점은 캠퍼가 얼마만큼의 벤틸레이션을 원하냐를 결정할 수 있도록 해주고, 또한 플라이를 씌우게되면 프라이버시를 제공해준다. - 더운 밤에 매우 좋은 옵션이다. 우리는 백팩디자인의 매우 요긴한 캐리백을 포함해, 처음부터 끝까지 Kingdom 6를 즐겼다. Kingdom 6 보다도 더 큰 텐트를 원한다면 Kingdom 8도 있다

The Coleman Carlsbad Fast Pitch is a tent that lives up to its marketing claims. It took us only 12 minutes to set it up for the first time, solo and in the dark. Wow! It is also noticeably cooler and darker in the sun, allowing us to sleep in late, or get out of the hot midday sun. This is not the best tent for cold or inclement weather, but it will do pretty well through a rainstorm. Priced under $300, this tent was an obvious choice for our Best Buy Award.

콜맨 칼스배드 패스트 피치는 이 텐트의 광고에 어울리는 텐트다. 어두운 날, 혼자 처음으로 쳐보는 것인데도 12분밖에 걸리지 않았다. 와우~ 그리고 확연히 햇살아래에서 더 시원하고, 더 어두워서 한낮의 뜨거운 태양을 피해 늦잠을 잘 수 있게 해준다. 춥거나 궂은 날, 최고의 텐트는 아니다.  하지만 비바람에도 꽤 잘 버틴다. 300불 아래의 가격으로, 이 텐트는 우리의 Best Buy Award의 당연한 초이스다.

자외선을 그 어떤 텐트보다 많이 차단해주어, 시원하고 어둡게 유지시켜준다. 벤틸이 잘되어 있고,

설치가 쉽고 빠르며 가격이 적당하다.

Cons - 단점 

부분적으로 적용된 플라이와 메쉬 프론트포치는 비에는 덜 이상적이다. 수납가방 디자인이 좀 허접하고,

먼지/모래 등의 유입을 막는게 쉽지 않다.

The Big Agnes Flying Diamond 6 is the only tent in the review that we totally agree can be called a genuine four-season tent. It would not be our first pick for polar expeditions, but it's a great choice for a family snow camping trip. If internal height is important for tent comfort, this is not your best choice: it stands only 5 ft 6 in inside. But it is a very fun family tent with two rooms, one smaller one like a cubby that kids will surely enjoy. And if you'll be needed to bring the kitchen sink, check out the larger Big Agnes Flying Diamond 8.

빅아그네스 플라잉 다이아몬드 6는 우리가 리뷰한 모든 텐트 중 진정한 4계절 텐트라고 불릴만한 텐트라고, 우리 모두가 동의한 유일한 텐트다. 북극탐험을 위한 첫번째 선택이 되지는 않겠지만, 가족들과의 설원캠핑에 아주 좋은 선택이다. 만일 전고가 텐트의 편안함에 아주 중요하다면, 이 텐트는 좋은 선택은 아니다. 내부 s높이가 고작 165cm 이다. 하지만 이 텐트는 매우 재밌는 가족용 텐트이고, 두개의 방이 있는데, 그 중 작은 방은 아이들이 확실히 즐길 수 있다. 만일 당신이 캠핑에 부엌을 가져간다면, 더 큰 빅아그네스 플라잉 다이아몬드 8을 확인해 봐라.

If the Kingdom 6 didn't reign over this review, the Mountain Hardwear Optic 6likely would have been our Editors' Choice Award winner. It is the best of so many worlds: it is tall and spacious but strong in high winds; easy to set up but still a fun and unique design; it is relatively light, not overpriced, and easy to carry with a shoulder sling on the stuff sack. It is a tent of intelligent compromises, a joy to use, and a genuine jack-of-all-trades. Plus, it had the best view of the sky when we left the fly off on a warm night in the high desert.

베스테뷸에 두개의 문이 있고, 강하고 내구성이 좋은 디자인. 높이가 높다. 

Cons - 단점 

수납포켄이 별로 없다. 문과 베스티뷸을 닫고나면 환기 시스템이 잘 되어 있지 않다. 

단순한 구조에 비해 폴대가 너무 많다. 두 개의 작은 폴대를 설치하려고 할 때, 플라이에 걸려 찢어질 위험이 잇다. 

Bottom Line - 요점 

약간은 불안정한 자립의 비싼 텐트다. 바람에 약하지만 공간이 넓고 좀 더 부드러운 캠핑 스타일에 더 재밌을 것 같다.

Nemo Wagontop 6 니모 왜건탑 6

Pros - 장점 

공간이 넓고, 높이가 높다. 재밌게 생겼다. 투 룸, 환기가 잘된다. 

Cons - 단점 

넓은 쪽은 바람이 좀 샌다. 베스티뷸이 하나밖에 없고, 플라이가 부분적용이다. 텐트와 베스티뷸에 간격이 좀 있다. 

Bottom Line - 요점 

사용하기 매우 쉬운 텐트이고, 디자인이 좋고, 내구성도 좋다. 다양한 날씨에 사용이 가능하다.

Kodiak Canvas 6 Person Flex-Bow 코디악 캔버스 6 플렉스보우 

Pros - 장점 

내구성이 좋고, 높이가 높고, 바닥이 폭탄도 막을만큼 튼튼하다.

Cons - 단점 

무겁다. 분리된 레인플라이가 없다. 자립이 안되고, 바닥에서 매우 강한, 그리고 오래 가는 플라스틱냄새가 난다.  

Bottom Line - 요점 

내구성이 있고, 오래 가며, 심미학적으로 기쁨을 주는 텐트지만, 매우 무겁고, 약간 비싸고, 바람이 불거나 비가 오는 날씨에는 최선의 선택이 아니다.

A camping specific tent is a general use tent, typically intended for car camping, where your campsite is a mere stone's throw (or tent's toss) from where you park your car. On the lighter end of the spectrum, you might find a few tents that are light and small enough for a group of friends or a family to hike it in a few miles, for a short overnight trip to their favorite lake. On the heavier end of the spectrum, you will find exceptionally durable tents made of materials that will likely last a lifetime, but require a handful of tools and scout training to assemble.

In this review our tents range from just under 12 pounds to nearly 70 pounds, and neither end of the spectrum proved to be award winning due to costs associated with durability and weather resistance on the light end, and difficulty with transport and set up on the heavy end.

This is a burly, snowstorm-ready tent that is at home in the mountains and on expeditions. This is not the tent you would typically select if you're a fair weather camper that goes out only in the summer months and pitches a tent by the river or at the beach for some rest and relaxation. There are only two tents in this review listed as four season tents. 사계절용 텐트는 동계용 텐트라고 생각해도 무방하다. 사계절용은 산악이나 탐험지에서 마치 집에 있는 것같이, 굳건하고, 눈폭풍에 준비가 된 텐트다. 만일 당신이 오직 온화한 날씨의 여름에만 캠핑을 나가거나, 휴식과 릴렉스를 위해 해변이나, 강가에 텐트를 치는 캠퍼라면 전형적인 선택을 아닐 것이다. 이 리뷰에서는 오직 두 개의 텐트만이 사계절 텐트이다.  The Big Agnes Flying Diamond 6 is a sturdy, weather resistant tent which can withstand winter use. The dome shape will slough off snow, the low profile will be strong in winds, and the generous guy lines give you many options to anchor the tent in the snow. It is probably not one you're going to take out for winter mountaineering trips, due to the size and weight, but it will be more than adequate for a family snow camping adventure. 빅아그네스 플라잉 다이아몬드 6는 겨울을 견뎌내기 적함한 견고하고 내후성이 좋은 텐트다. 돔형태는 눈이 쌓이지 않고 흘러내리도록 해주고, 낮은 전고는 바람에 강하며, 훌륭한 가이라인은 당신에게 텐트를 눈속에 고정시키는데 있어 여러가지 옵션을 줄 것이다. 사이즈와 무게때문에 겨울 산악여행에 가지고 갈만한 텐트는 아닐것이다. 하지만 이 텐트는 가족 설워캠핑에 좀 더 적합한 텐트이다.  The other listed four season tent is the Kodiak Canvas 6-Person Flex-Bow. On the website, Kodiak says the tent is for "use year-round, but not designed for extreme winter mountaineering or heavy snow accumulations." Different people have different opinions of what is or is not extreme, and someone from Colorado has a very different perspective on heavy snow accumulations compared to someone who has spent a winter in Washington's Cascades. Given this caveat, and the fact that there is no vestibule and minimal guy lines on the Kodiak, we greatly question the claim that this tent is made for year round use--that is, unless your version of four-season camping is spending some of the winter months in the desert. 리스트의 또 다른 사계절용 텐트는 코디악 캔버스 6인용 플렉스 보우다. 코디악 홈페이지를 보면, "극한의 겨울 산악이나 폭설로 눈이 쌓인 곳을 위해 고안되지는 않았지만, 연중 내내 사용이 가능한" 이라고 되어 있다.  극한 상황이 어떤 상황인지에 대해서 많은 사람들이 각자의 의견을 가지고 있다, 특히 콜로라도에서 온 사람과 워싱턴의 캐스케이드에서 겨울을 난 사람과 비교한다면, 눈이 쌓이는 축적량에 대해 매우 다른 견해를 가지고 있다. 코디악의 코멘트에다가, 코디악에는 베스티뷸이 없고, 최소한의 가이라인만 달려있다는 점을 볼 때, 우리는 이 텐트가 연중 4계절 모두 사용이 가능하다는 제조사의 설명에 큰 의문을 느꼈다. -- 당신의 사계절 캠핑 버전이 사막 한가운데서 겨울을 나는 그런 버전이 아니라면;; Double Wall 이중 스킨 Most of the tents in this review are double wall tents. This is probably the type of tent you think of when you imagine a camping specific tent. It has an inner tent body which is erected with two or more poles. It might be free standing or self-supporting, meaning it doesn't rely on stakes to hold its shape. The Mountain Hardwear Optic 6 is a self-supporting tent, and one of our favorites in this review. A tent can also be tunnel style, which must be pulled tight and staked out at either end to stay upright. The REI Kingdom 6 is technically a self-supporting tent, but it has a shape similar to tunnel tents, which do very well in wind if oriented appropriately, and which tend to be simple, spacious, and lighter weight for their size. 이 리뷰의 대부분의 텐트가 더블월텐트다. 아마 더블월의 형태는 당신이 캠핑텐트를 떠올렸을 대 흔히 생각하게 되는 형태일 것이다. 더블월은 두 개, 혹은 그 이상의 폴대로 이너텐트가 자립이 된다. 이너 스스로 지지가 되거나 독립적으로 세워지는 형태일 수도 있다. 그건 펙을 박지 않고 텐트의 형태를 잡아줄 수 있다는 의미다. 마운틴 하드웨어 옵틱 6는 자립형 텐트이고, 이 리뷰에서 우리가 매우 좋아한 텐트다.  또한 제대로 서있으려면 강하게 잡아당겨 양 끝에 펙을 박아줘야 제대로 서있는 터널형태의 텐트가 있다. 알이아이 킹덤 6는 엄밀히 따지면 자립형텐트지만, 생김새는 방향만 잘 잡으면 바람에 잘 견디고, 단순하고 넓고, 사이즈에 비해 가벼운 경향이 있는 터널형태를 더 닮았다. Single Wall 단일 스킨  Single wall tents are typically used for mountaineering purposes. Overall, they are lighter weight and more compact than a rugged double wall tent intended for the same purpose. There were no true single wall tents in this review. The Kodiak has no fly, so technically it has just one wall, but it is made of canvas which, being a natural fabric instead of a synthetic polyester or nylon, is a pretty different thing. The trade off with single wall tents is that they can be harder to ventilate and the material does not breathe very well, so they tend to accumulate condensation. 싱글월 텐트는 보통 산악캠핑 목적으로 사용된다. 전체적으로 동일한 산악캠핑 목적으로 고안된 견고한 더블월텐트에 비해 가볍고 컴팩트하다. 이 리뷰에 진정한 싱글월텐트는 없다. 코디악은 플라이가 없으니, 싱글월이라고도 할 수 있겠지만, 재질자체가 천연 패브릭인 면으로 되어 있어, 인조폴리에스테르나 나일론과는 확실히 다르다. 싱글월 텐트의 대가(트레이드오프)는 환기를 하기가 어렵고, 재질자체가 호흡을 잘 하지 못해, 결로가 축적되는 경향이 있다는 점이다.  Camping tents are designed to be comfortable, enjoyable shelters, used in situations where camping is the point of the trip. Since they are not intended for climbing or backpacking, there is no need for compromises to campground comfort in order to lighten the load in your backpack. It performed well, rain or shine, and didn't get too hot in the sun. It was a great performer for a broad range of camping scenarios. For more specific comfort requirements, such as shelter from the scorching hot sun in the desert, you might prefer the Coleman Carlsbad Fast Pitch 6. We weigh ease of setup slightly less than overall livability and weather resistance, but not far behind. With only 3 poles and an intuitive dome shape, it was fast and easy to set up, even after a long drive to our favorite camping spot. The Coleman Carlsbad Fast Pitch 6 was also easy to set up, and lived up to its name: we set it up in 12 minutes on our first try! It had solid, clean, and strong stitching, tensioned nicely, and the fly fit snugly around the tent body. We also liked the Mountain Hardwear Optic 6 for its reliable, durable design (living up to the company's reputation for producing excellent outdoor products and especially burly tents, like the industry standard-setting 4-season Trango series).
